| "Proof-positive
that guitar rock is alive and well." - Reeves
Gabrels (David Bowie, The Cure, NIN)
While most drivers on
the roads that make up our musical landscape tend to
drive sedately between the lines,
THE NEW PHILOSOPHERS
meander from shoulder to
shoulder with wanton disregard to the safety of others.
The band is constantly changing direction, tempo, and
topical matter in a fashion too deliverate to be random
but too random to be predictable. Like that
happy-go-lucky drunk driver you saw on "Cops", they are
equal parts entertaining and menace to society. |

Music presents New Philosophers LIVE, a
new live album that captures the New Philosophers (Jason
Davis, Eric Ervin, Douglas Flanagan) as they served up a
generous helping of soul-bending, rock ‘n roll stew (with
cornbread) to the attending masses during the Spring of
2012.
Recorded on
Friday the 13th (of April) on the campus of Herkimer County
College by Mike Tripoli of Hillside Studios, the six-song
set includes live and improvised treatments of songs from
Davis’ albums Balance: The One-Forty-Seven Manifesto
and [the red album] as well as the crowd-favorite
instrumental “HSC” (previously unavailable).
The new
album, along with a 9-page digital booklet, can be
downloaded for FREE by visiting the
Spinning Axis Music Online Store. |
